[Home] [About SDVS]

SDVS is a “Local Infrastructure Organisation”, a voluntary organisation which supports, promotes and develops local voluntary and community action for the benefit of Third Sector groups. SDVS supports over 100 member organisations by providing them with a range of services and by acting as a voice for the Third Sector.

SDVS supports, promotes and develops local voluntary and community action through five key functions:-

  • functionsServices and support – we provide a range of services for organisations in Stafford Borough and throughout Staffordshire, where appropriate
  • Liaison – we assist Third Sector groups to network and share information, good practices, and in empowering local groups, we strengthen the sector
  • Representation – we help put forward the views of the Third Sector through locally-based forums, to shape local and national policies
  • Development work – we assist groups to develop their own capacity in voluntary and community action, and we identify gaps in community provision if they exist
  • Strategic partnership – we work in partnership with District, County, regional and national government, to empower local Third Sector groups
