SDVS is pleased to be a part of SCIO, the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Consortium of Infrastructure Organisations.
We are one of fifteen members across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, infrastructure organisations creating a more effective Third Sector by providing support and services direct to front-line organisations.
For more details of SCIO, visit the information portal www.CommunitiesTogether.org.uk or see the SDVS page www.CommunitiesTogether.org.uk/sdvs
SCIO grew out of the Staffordshire CVS Partnership, joint working of the Councils for Voluntary Service and has become more inclusive, adding specialist support organisations for young people, rural communities, faith communities and minority ethnic communities.
Driven partly by the Government’s ChangeUp agenda, but also by the need to provide consistent quality support to all Third Sector organisations across the sub-region (Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent) SCIO:
- aims to create a more effective Third Sector.
- wants all organisations to be able to access high-quality support that meets their needs, when they need it.
- will strengthen the sector by improving our support, thus increasing the Third Sector’s ability to create a better quality of life for individuals and communities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
SDVS is host to the SCIO Secretariat: Fiona Humpage, the SCIO Performance and Development Manager, and Catherine Hughes, the SCIO Administrator.
