Many voluntary and community groups are largely dependent on the receipt of grants from a range of agencies in order for them to continue to run services or develop projects. The funding world is very large, varied, inconsistent and sometimes complex.
The aim of SDVS development services in this area is to assist groups to pass through these complexities as easily as possible and to share funding knowledge and experience, as well as highlighting funding opportunities for action individually or in partnership with others.
We offer the following support to local voluntary & community groups wanting to raise money by:
- Giving advice on how to make funding applications
- Helping to identify potential funders through searches using proprietary software and websites.
- Arranging briefing sessions and funding advice surgeries
- Delivering one-to-one support sessions and organisation training sessions on developing fundraising skills and related issues
- Providing good practice guidelines and help notes to assist groups in the development of their projects and committees
- Providing updates on new and ongoing funding opportunities via our ‘Headlines’ E-newsletter service
