b2blogoBack2Bikes for Quality Used Bicycles & Repairs

Our key objective is to offer supported volunteer opportunities to people who have difficulty in getting a job. We do this through the repair of unwanted bicycles, which are then sold on to the public to help defray costs. We also offer servicing and repairs to customers´ bikes and sell used parts to people who want to do their own repairs. We have helped many volunteers, several of whom have moved on to paid work. Our volunteers come from many diverse backgrounds, which include ethnic minorities, former offenders, people with learning disabilities and people recovering from long-term mental illness. In addition, we have a number of retired volunteers who have had a lifelong interest in cycling and bring additional skills to our team.

What can We do for you?

  • We can supply you (or your organisation) with low cost bikes and maintain them for you. This can be very useful for reducing car use in the town centre - it can even help you to keep fit.
  • Children grow very quickly, so their bikes need changing every few years. Why not come and see what we have in stock before spending on a new one? We even have a few nursery toys.
  • People with expensive bikes are often reluctant to use them in the winter or for trips where there is a risk of theft or damage. A cheap second bike from us means that you can keep the good bike for "best", using it when appropriate, but use the No.2 bike for trips to the pub, shopping, or if it has to be left at a station or other high risk areas.
  • Why not carry a folding bike in your boot, on your boat or in your caravan to extend your range when parked up?

What can you do for us?

  • Buy a bike!
  • Or get your existing one(s) serviced (it's £20.00 for a complete safety check including any necessary adjustments to brakes/ gears/ bearings etc. - if major problems are spotted you will be advised and offered a solution).
  • Recommend us to agencies that sponsor volunteers. There is no requirement for any skills; we will show volunteers all they need to know and will provide references for job applications.
  • Tell your friends; we rely on word of mouth to help spread the word about the project. Tell us how else we could help and, if we can, we will do it!
  • Secondhand cycle parts, bike servicing & sales.
